Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Laxman Shrestha was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,540.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laxman Shrestha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2006 for USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,656.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Laxman Shrestha kam im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.540,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Laxman Shrestha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2006 für USD 36.000,00 (€ 29.656,48) versteigert wurde.
