Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included this untitled work by Laxman Shrestha. The price achieved of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,586.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Laxman Shrestha have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,656.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Laxman Shrestha zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.586,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laxman Shrestha auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 29.656,48).
