Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Laxman Shrestha achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,634.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Laxman Shrestha have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 29,656.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Laxman Shrestha erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.634,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laxman Shrestha auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 29.656,48).
