Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 5,250.00. Admittedly, works by Kees Verwey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work De Stoel In De Zon (Atelier Impressie) in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 82,250.00 (€ 39,533.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A still life with fruits and flowers von Kees Verwey kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 5.250,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kees Verwey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit De Stoel In De Zon (Atelier Impressie) im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 82.250,00 (€ 39.533,19).
