In March 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from “In Its Own Light: Property from the Collection of Ed Cohen and Victoria Shaw”, which included this untitled work by Katy Schimert. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,440.08), 19% above the upper estimate. With this result, this work without title is even the most expensive work of art by Katy Schimert that we have observed at auctions so far.
