Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kai Althoff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Frausus sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,123.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kai Althoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Antonius Eremita in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 682,000.00 (€ 769,085.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Kai Althoff erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Frausus für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.123,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kai Althoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Antonius Eremita im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 682.000,00 (€ 769.085,60).
