This artwork by Kaari Upson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May 2013. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work without title sold for USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,098.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kaari Upson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Horizon, which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 47,882.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kaari Upson erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.098,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kaari Upson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Horizon beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 47.882,08) versteigert wurde.
