Despite a disappointment, a good price for Justine Kurland
When the work Four Leaf Clovers (Lexington, Virginia) by Justine Kurland was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,395.53). Despite this disappointing result, Four Leaf Clovers (Lexington, Virginia) is the most expensive artwork by Justine Kurland that we have observed at auction so far.
