Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work West of the Water, 2003 by Justine Kurland was sold in the First Open | Home auction at Christies in New York in September 2016. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,445.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justine Kurland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Leaf Clovers (Lexington, Virginia), which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,395.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit West of the Water, 2003 von Justine Kurland wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion First Open | Home bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.445,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Justine Kurland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four Leaf Clovers (Lexington, Virginia) beobachtet, die im September 2007 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.395,53) versteigert wurde.
