Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Submerged/Emerged by Judy Chicago was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in New York in October 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,593.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Judy Chicago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 69,743.68).

Die Arbeit Submerged/Emerged von Judy Chicago wurde im Oktober 2014 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.593,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Judy Chicago erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 69.743,68).
