Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Judy Chicago could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples Online auction, the work Old changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 556.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Judy Chicago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 69,743.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Judy Chicago konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples Online wechselte die Arbeit Old für USD 625,00 (€ 556,64) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Judy Chicago erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 69.743,68).
