Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study for "Wishing it were true" by Judy Chicago was sold in the (Women) Artists auction at Sothebys in London in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,796.23). Admittedly, works by Judy Chicago have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 69,743.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study for "Wishing it were true" von Judy Chicago wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion (Women) Artists bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.796,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Judy Chicago auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Growing Pains from the series Six Views from the Womantree im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 69.743,68).
