The work Text/Context (Conventional) by Joseph Kosuth was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2006. It achieved a price of USD 1,320.00 (€ 1,040.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Kosuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ‘Titled (A.A.I.A.I.)’ [text-context|AID1046897] in November last year with an auction result of USD 289,800.00 (€ 280,732.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Text/Context (Conventional) von Joseph Kosuth kam im September 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.320,00 (€ 1.040,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Kosuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ‘Titled (A.A.I.A.I.)’ [text-context|AID1046897] im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 289.800,00 (€ 280.732,35).
