Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jorge Oteiza could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art, Day auction, the work Expansión (Desocupación De La Esfera) changed hands for GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,737.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jorge Oteiza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 920,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jorge Oteiza konnte im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art, Day wechselte die Arbeit Expansión (Desocupación De La Esfera) für GBP 28.800,00 (€ 42.737,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jorge Oteiza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 920.000,00.
