Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Caja Vacia/Mueble Metafisico no. 2 by Jorge Oteiza was sold in the Art Contemporain Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 25,200.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jorge Oteiza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 920,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Caja Vacia/Mueble Metafisico no. 2 von Jorge Oteiza wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Art Contemporain Day Sale bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 25.200,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jorge Oteiza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 920.000,00.
