This artwork by Jorge Oteiza achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in October 2020. In the Le jardin secret de Paul Haim auction, the work Open construction sold for EUR 300,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jorge Oteiza - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga, which sold at auction in October 2020 for EUR 920,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jorge Oteiza erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Le jardin secret de Paul Haim wurde die Arbeit Open construction für EUR 300.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jorge Oteiza mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Round circulation with signs in the Basque landscape/orreaga beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für EUR 920.000,00 versteigert wurde.
