Auction result misses estimated price range
In June this year a collector was able to acquire the work Summer Afternoon by John Steuart Curry for USD 384.00 (€ 351.65). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steuart Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 175,500.00 (€ 149,158.59).
