Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Steuart Curry could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Elephants changed hands for USD 832.00 (€ 761.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Steuart Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Preliminary Study for a Mural: Oklahoma Land Rush in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 175,500.00 (€ 149,158.59).
