This artwork by John Sonsini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2020. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Fernando Guerrero, Mexico; Francisco Tambriz, Guatemala; Rocky Pivarral, Guatemala C.A.; Rogelio Taurequin (Rogelio No. 2) (Four Works) sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,734.52) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Sonsini; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gabriel sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,520.63).
