The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,205.74), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Sonsini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gabriel, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,520.63).

Die Arbeit Christian, Hilberto, Guillermo, Carlos von John Sonsini wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.205,74) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Sonsini mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gabriel beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.520,63) versteigert wurde.
