Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John McLaughlin could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work #6 changed hands for USD 118,750.00 (€ 97,383.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by John McLaughlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work V-1957 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 437,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John McLaughlin konnte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit #6 für USD 118.750,00 (€ 97.383,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John McLaughlin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit V-1957 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.500,00 (€ 437.230,17).
