Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work #22-1960 by John McLaughlin. It changed hands for a price of USD 113,400.00 (€ 92,996.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by John McLaughlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work V-1957 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 437,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit #22-1960 von John McLaughlin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 92.996,56) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John McLaughlin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit V-1957 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 516.500,00 (€ 437.230,17).
