Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by John Grillo was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 14,452.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Grillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Grillo kam im April 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 14.452,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John Grillo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im August 2020 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58) versteigert wurde.
