Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by John Grillo. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,678.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Grillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Grillo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.678,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Grillo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im August 2020 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58) versteigert wurde.
