Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included this untitled work by John Grillo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 2,040.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Grillo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Grillo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 2.040,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Grillo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58).
