Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Explosive Series) by John Grillo for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,630.15). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Grillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Explosive Series) von John Grillo für USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.630,15) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Grillo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im August 2020 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58) versteigert wurde.
