Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Grillo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2007. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Flood Of Light sold for USD 31,200.00 (€ 23,582.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Grillo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in August 2020 with the realized price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Grillo erzielte im Februar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Flood Of Light für USD 31.200,00 (€ 23.582,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Grillo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im August 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58).
