In March 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work February Gaiety by John Fabian Carlson. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,081.82) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Fabian Carlson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Forest Silence, which sold at auction in September 2009 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92).

Im März 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit February Gaiety von John Fabian Carlson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.081,82) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Fabian Carlson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Forest Silence beobachtet, die im September 2009 für USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.023,92) versteigert wurde.
