In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Forest Silence by John Fabian Carlson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92), 34% above the upper estimate. With this result, Forest Silence is even the most expensive work of art by John Fabian Carlson that we have observed at auctions so far.
