Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Fabian Carlson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Thawing Stream changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,666.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Fabian Carlson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Forest Silence in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 55,023.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Fabian Carlson konnte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Thawing Stream für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.666,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Fabian Carlson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Forest Silence im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 55.023,92).
