Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Turin Thunderbolt" by Jim Thorell was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 36,000.00 (€ 3,484.86). Other works by Jim Thorell have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April this year by the work "Burnt matches in the sand" at SEK 75,000.00 (€ 6,630.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Turin Thunderbolt" von Jim Thorell im April letzten Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 36.000,00 (€ 3.484,86) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jim Thorell wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April diesen Jahres die Arbeit "Burnt matches in the sand" mit SEK 75.000,00 (€ 6.630,43).
