Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jim Thorell could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Blue Chanterelle, 2015 changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,043.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jim Thorell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Burnt matches in the sand", which sold at auction in April this year for SEK 75,000.00 (€ 6,630.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Thorell konnte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Blue Chanterelle, 2015 für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.043,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jim Thorell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Burnt matches in the sand" beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für SEK 75.000,00 (€ 6.630,43) versteigert wurde.
