Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work La Prévenue Ou Audience De Tribunal by Jean Louis Forain for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,052.84). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Louis Forain achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La femme aux affiches in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,692,500.00 (€ 1,450,299.91).
