Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by James Tower achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2019. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Greenish Black & White Bowl sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,989.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Tower - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ribbed Chest Form, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,674.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Tower erzielte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Greenish Black & White Bowl für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.989,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Tower mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ribbed Chest Form beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.674,30) versteigert wurde.
