The work Thaw by James Tower was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2016. It achieved a price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,050.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Admittedly, works by James Tower have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ribbed Chest Form in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,674.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Thaw von James Tower wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.050,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Tower auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ribbed Chest Form im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.674,30).
