This artwork by James Tower achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2016. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Black And White Bowl sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,103.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by James Tower have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ribbed Chest Form in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,674.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Tower erzielte im März 2016 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Britain wurde die Arbeit Black And White Bowl für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.103,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Tower auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ribbed Chest Form im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.674,30).
