This price was achieved in the auction Made In Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Tower; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ribbed Chest Form sold at auction in September 2018 with the realized price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,674.30).
