Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Stations Of The Cross Prototype A by James Hayward for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,454.39). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Hayward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract #9, 1998, which sold at auction in April last year for USD 16,575.00 (€ 15,730.28).
