Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work # 3 by James Hayward. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 875.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Hayward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract #9, 1998 in April last year with an auction result of USD 16,575.00 (€ 15,730.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit # 3 von James Hayward zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 875,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Hayward erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract #9, 1998 im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.575,00 (€ 15.730,28).
