Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Ibram Lassaw (1913-2003) by Ibram Lassaw was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,230.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ibram Lassaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work October Continuity in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 172,958.74).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Ibram Lassaw (1913-2003) von Ibram Lassaw im März 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.230,90) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ibram Lassaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit October Continuity im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 172.958,74).
