Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online, which included this untitled work by Ibram Lassaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,545.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ibram Lassaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work October Continuity in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 197,000.00 (€ 172,958.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction: Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ibram Lassaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.545,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ibram Lassaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit October Continuity im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 197.000,00 (€ 172.958,74).
