The work Motherland by Huang Gang was sold in the FIRST OPEN | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2016. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,779.63) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Gang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Star (Triptych) in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 361,000.00 (€ 228,408.73).

Die Arbeit Motherland von Huang Gang wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion FIRST OPEN | Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.779,63) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Gang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Star (Triptych) im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 361.000,00 (€ 228.408,73).
