This artwork by Huang Gang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Waving Mao sold for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,956.85) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Gang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Star (Triptych) in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 361,000.00 (€ 228,408.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Gang erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Waving Mao für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.956,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Gang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Star (Triptych) im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 361.000,00 (€ 228.408,73).
