Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Beach-51 by Hilo Chen was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,487.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hilo Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach 96 in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 107,100.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Beach-51 von Hilo Chen wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.487,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hilo Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach 96 im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 107.100,00.
