Upper estimate price exceeded by 47 %.
In February last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Online, which included the work Bathroom - 15 by Hilo Chen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 441,000.00 (€ 50,252.94), 47% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hilo Chen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beach 96, which sold at auction in October 2020 for EUR 107,100.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bathroom - 15 von Hilo Chen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 441.000,00 (€ 50.252,94) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hilo Chen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beach 96 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für EUR 107.100,00 versteigert wurde.
