This artwork by Hilo Chen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in November 2021. In the Figure and Form: Modern Art Featuring Bridging Generations, Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum auction, the work Beach sold for HKD 567,000.00 (€ 63,044.65) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hilo Chen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Beach 96 sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of EUR 107,100.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hilo Chen erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Figure and Form: Modern Art Featuring Bridging Generations, Property from an Important Southeast Asian Private Museum wurde die Arbeit Beach für HKD 567.000,00 (€ 63.044,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hilo Chen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Beach 96 im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 107.100,00.
