This artwork by Herbert George Ponting achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in May 2018. In the ULTIMATE Evening & Photographs Day Sales auction, the work Penguins and Iceberg, Antartica sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,270.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert George Ponting achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Ponting's three master albums of contact prints in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 195,755.59).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Herbert George Ponting erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ULTIMATE Evening & Photographs Day Sales wurde die Arbeit Penguins and Iceberg, Antartica für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.270,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert George Ponting erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Ponting's three master albums of contact prints im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 195.755,59).
