Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selected Images of Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s Expedition to the Antarctic by Herbert George Ponting was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,061.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herbert George Ponting have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Ponting's three master albums of contact prints in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 195,755.59).

Die Arbeit Selected Images of Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s Expedition to the Antarctic von Herbert George Ponting kam im Oktober 2018 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.061,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert George Ponting auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Ponting's three master albums of contact prints im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 195.755,59).
