This artwork by Henry van de Velde achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2016. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Paysan Au Chapeau De Paille Penché sold for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,848.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry van de Velde have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Verger avec paysanne in October this year with an auction result of EUR 378,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry van de Velde erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Paysan Au Chapeau De Paille Penché für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.848,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry van de Velde auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Verger avec paysanne im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 378.000,00.
