Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work General Kenneth Casey, General Meldon Convention, General Adele-De-Garbe, And General Accountants by Henry Darger. It changed hands for a price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 43,107.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Darger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in December 2014 with an auction result of EUR 601,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit General Kenneth Casey, General Meldon Convention, General Adele-De-Garbe, And General Accountants von Henry Darger zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 43.107,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Darger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 601.500,00.
